i love you yesterday, today + forever | Vancouver Wedding Photography

He simply took my purse, put it behind his back, smiled his ridiculous beaming smile and said “i don’t think you should go home yet.”

There we were, “toonie tuesday” at 97 street pub in Kelowna at a work function, 11 years ago.  We were discussing how I should come to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico with him that year for Christmas, as his parents live there. Turns out my friends bailed on me that year with our travel plans. I’ve never jetted off to Mexico with anyone, let alone this handsome man asking me to go. We made it a plan, I blamed in on “toonie tuesday” and would deal with it in the morning.

Of course the night didn’t end there. We ended up dancing the night away, smiling, giggling like teenagers meeting for the first time and continued to discuss our new plan for Mexico.  Afterwards a bunch of us piled in his red Honda Civic, music cranked, listening to Creed’s “with arms wide open” as the night was ending. Conveniently he dropped everyone off first and I was the last stop.

I took my purse to leave his car, stopped and turned to him, “I am not ready for the night to end.”

There we were, alone, no work friends, no more “toonie tuesday”, no music, standing in the pouring rain…and then he kissed me.

Eleven years later, I still remember the kiss that changed my life and I am still not ready for the night to end.

i love you yesterday, today + forever…

xoxo

We recently went back to where it all started, May 2012, Cabo San Lucas Mexico…check back Sunday for a full slideshow of our trip!
