dreams+fairies | Headshots | Vancouver Wedding and Portrait Photographer

I got the call on a Monday. “Um can you fit me in today for a photoshoot and I need them by Thursday”. There was no way I could possibly fit in another shoot right now and then have them done in three days. Currently I am booking into October and my turn around time is not typically three days! Maggie needed headshots for her comp card as she is entering a modelling contest. Maggie is seven.

You know when you were little and anticipated and wanted something so much you just had to have it or would do anything for it?  For me it was competitive gymnastics. We would drive four times a week after school, one hour away from my town, with home work in the car, train and then one hour back.  We would then travel for weekend competitions. For maggie, it’s this.

I really wanted to do these photos for them and I couldn’t be happier with the results.  Maggie took direction, even the smallest of movements, better than some adults, I have no doubt in my mind you will be a shining star.

Her sister Molly was on hand (thank you for your assistance Molly) and I couldn’t resist to capture a few sister moments between them during our shoot. Molly, the older sister, was wearing what appeared to be a “rope-like necklace” around her neck. I asked her about it. Around four years ago, she was told that a fairy left her a necklace by the bush. She took it and put it on. Then she was told by her cousins never to take it off as it would symbolize that she didn’t believe in fairies anymore.  Four years later, the beads have fallen, the rope worn down and yet she still wears it.

Maggie, dream big + wish on stars and you will always succeed at whatever you do.

Molly, thank you for reminding me to believe.

Best of luck,

xoxo
