2015 A Year In Review | Vancouver Wedding & Family Photographer

from first kisses, to dances, new beginnings, smiles, tears of joy, details, portraits and lifestyle sessions taken in vancouver, 100 mile house, harrison hot springs, puerto vallarta and more …it’s been one amazing year! all of these are moments captured of people lives, moments that will forever be cherished and i am blessed to have been a part of each and every one.

thank you to my amazing clients! starting back up early in the new year, 2016 is a comin’ – bring it on!

in no particular order, just like life…here are a few of my favorite things…

The “K” Family Is Back! Queen Elizabeth Park | Vancouver Family Photographer

the big bold colors of fall arrived at queen elizabeth park for the lovely “k” family’s photo session!  it is a true delight to capture this family every year. this is my fourth year and i simply love seeing the girls grow and meeting them every year. little miss “e” even asked if i was going to lunch with them after, so cute!!

thank you “k” family, it’s families like yours that makes me love family photography so much…i even had my own family photos done this year and think it’s so important to keep them current.

until next time…

The “B” Family | New Westminster| New Westminster & Vancouver Family Photographer

i love this time of year. big bold colors, the crisp weather (ok maybe i like sun-drenched a tad more) but something about bundling up and warm soft light just makes me smile. i was honored to capture the “b” family last weekend right here in the hood, my neighbourhood that is. new westminster has some amazing locations, but mixed with dreamy light is a photogs dream.

i look forward to capturing your family in the years to come, mr. “j” is one handsome little fella.

Ruan + Sarah’s Wedding | South Surrey & Vancouver Wedding Photographer

the gentleman who gave his speech at ruan+sarah’s wedding said it best, “your wedding will always be remembered and talked about for years to come”. so true, for this south surrey wedding was certainly one i’ll never forget.

with wind storms and pouring rain, it certainly was not the ideal the wedding weather, but these two handled it with calmness and never let the stress of the day impact their wedding in any way. the unthinkable really happened 30 seconds before sarah was going to walk down the aisle, the power goes out. the 200+ guests waited patiently and my palms started sweating, lol. then i kicked it in to overdrive and starting thinking, where’s the light coming from, what are my settings, iso, aperature, flash….the show must go on and thankfully as i am skilled professional, i could handle this type of situation, with sweaty palms of course, lol. the minister said, “well for those of you who prayed for a romantic candle-lit ceremony, your prayers were answered”.

the power came back on a few hours later for the reception and the sun even came out during our portrait section. someone was looking out for them.:)

ruan+sarah’s wedding was a do-it-yourself dream! simple, elegant decor mixed with teas, flowers and gorgeous centre pieces.  the bride’s mother made her dress and the bridesmaids dresses too!

it was such a pleasure to capture your day, regardless if things did not go as planned. i am reminded to simply adapt, stay calm and carry on. you have a beautiful family and lovely friends who really made me feel welcome and were so helpful throughout the whole day, thank you for choosing me to document your day.

wishing you a lifetime of calm love and adapting to life’s surprises,

xoxo

Simon+Melissa’s Wedding | Harrison Hot Springs Resort & Spa | Harrison Hot Springs Wedding Photographer

me and harrison are like bff’s now, lol. i absolutely love shooting weddings at the gorgeous harrison hot springs resort & spa. i have been lucky enough to have had several wedding their now and it just doesn’t get old, especially when you have the best couple ever! simon+melissa’s wedding was pure bliss. i could seriously photograph these two all day long. i think it’s because they are at ease with each other, like two very old dear friends who bring out the best in each other, calm each other when the moment calls for it and make each other laugh. it’s been a pleasure getting to know you this past year!  with soft shades of pink, dreamy light, breathtaking views and the garden most people of dream of, their happily-ever-after will always be remembered.

thank you for choosing me to be a part of this journey. i do hope to work with simon, after all, he is a talented videorgrapher so be sure to check out captured productions! let’s hope we can shoot a wedding one day together!
